My passion for women’s health grew from a deep love and reverence for the natural world. Growing up in Canada with biologist parents, much of my childhood was spent camping and exploring outdoors—learning about ecosystems, cycles, and the interconnectedness of life. These early experiences rooted in me a respect for nature’s intelligence and a curiosity about how balance and wellbeing are created and sustained.

That curiosity led me through fisheries work, permaculture, and small-scale sustainable agriculture, before drawing me toward holistic health. The thread connecting all of these experiences has been a fascination with how the wellbeing of people, communities, and the earth are intimately connected. In 2014, that thread led me to midwifery—a field that harmonizes woman-centred care, science, traditional knowledge, and holistic understanding in a way that deeply resonated with my values.

Midwifery has given me the profound privilege of walking alongside women and families during times of immense transformation—moments rich with potential for empowerment, healing, and growth. The addition of internal pelvic release and bodywork to my practice has expanded this work even further. Through the guidance of my teachers, I came to understand the pelvic space as a place of wisdom, memory, and resilience. I quickly realized how often we address the mind while overlooking the body’s own language and intelligence. This work invites us to listen deeply to the body’s stories, to meet what is held there with compassion, and to honour its innate capacity for healing.

I hold a profound respect for Indigenous birthing and healing wisdom. Over the years, I have learned from Mexican, Mayan, and Aboriginal Australian traditions—knowledge carefully preserved and shared by generations of wisdom keepers through sacred science and practice. I acknowledge that these teachings come from cultures that are not my own heritage, and I honour the generosity of those who shared this knowledge for the benefit of all women and birthworkers.

I live and work in Canberra, ACT, on the land of the Ngunnawal people. I honour and respect the enduring knowledge, wisdom, and stewardship that Indigenous peoples hold for Land, Culture, and Spirit, and I pay my respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. I also have a home on Vancouver Island, Canada, on the unceded lands of the Coast Salish peoples, and I am deeply grateful for their past, present, and future care of this land.

Why Tall Trees?

Tall Trees symbolize this work because they embody our healthiest, most thriving selves - reaching toward our fullest potential. To grow tall, trees must be deeply rooted in fertile ground and nourished by a rich, connected ecosystem. They stand strong, unafraid to be seen, and provide shelter, protection, and support for countless other beings.

My own physical and spiritual health journeys have taught me how deeply connected the mind, body and heart truly are. The stories we carry shape all parts of our lives, and true wellbeing comes from nurturing ourselves as holistic beings in multiple, interconnected ways. For me, this pelvic work is like a river flowing through a forest. Gentle yet powerfully nourishing, it supports growth and vitality - helping the trees, and the life around them, reach their full potential. Tall Trees represents this journey: ever-growing towards self-awareness, self-acceptance and connection.
